The Win-Win of Online Classes

Finally, Utah education is moving into the 21st Century with expansion of online learning available for all students. SB 65 Statewide Online Education Program, takes steps to help students personalize their learning and to expand on a program already in place, i.e. Open High School of Utah.

SB 65 will:

• Provide high quality learning options for all students regardless of language, zip code, income levels or special needs.
• Utilize the power and scalability of technology to customize education to allow students to learn in their own style preference and at their own pace.
• Provide greater access to self-paced programs enabling a high achieving student to accelerate academically, while a struggling student can access additional time and help to gain competency.

Aside from the benefits to the students who take advantage of online learning programs, SB 65 will also benefit those that remain in a brick and mortar classroom. Because of those that may be taking additional classes online, class sizes in schools will be reduced. It’s a win-win.
