Meet Howard
Howard Stephenson was first elected to the Utah State Senate in 1992. He represents Senate District 11, which covers portions of Salt Lake and Utah counties.
Senator Stephenson earned his bachelor’s degree in psychology and aerospace studies from Brigham Young University in 1975. He went on to receive his Master of Public Administration in 1977. Since then, he has worked as a taxpayer advocate and currently serves as President of the Utah Taxpayers Association.
In addition to his duties as a Senator, he hosts a radio show, Red Meat Radio (AM 630), every Saturday morning from 8 to 10. He also authored articles within Salt Lake’s Enterprise business newspaper to promote efficiency and effectiveness in government.
Senator Stephenson resides in Draper, Utah with his wife Julie.
